Synopsis
In 1949, the writer Raymond Maufrais, a 23-year-old Resistance fighter, leaves alone for Guyana to reach the legendary Tumuc-Humac mountains.
Everyone tries to dissuade him from this madness, but to no avail. He will never return from this expedition. If, by a miraculous chance, an Indian had not discovered his diary on the banks of the Tamouri River in 1951, we would never have known what had happened to him.
Accompanied by howler monkeys, anacondas, caimans, and all the creatures that inhabit the jungle, Eliott Schonfeld, machete and camera in hand, sets off in the footsteps of Raymond Maufrais to complete this expedition alone.
