Synopsis

On April 17, 1975, Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, is invaded by cohorts of skinny, haggard teenagers, dressed in black and heavily armed.

It is the army of the communists, dubbed a few years earlier "Khmer Rouge" by King Norodom Sihanouk. They have defeated the pro-American supporters of General and Prime Minister Lon Nol after a five-year civil war.

At least 1.7 million people have died in the countryside.
