SPAIN - OF DESERTS AND MEN
Exploring with wide open eyes
An episode from the series LANDS OF THE EARTH
The desert is varied and closer than what one might think. In Spain, human creativity has adapted civilized life to the most extreme conditions.
From south to north, this film shows how men have been able to take advantage of the specificity of each desert. In the Canary Islands, the rocks from the volcanic desert allow for wine-growing while the Teide volcano is gateway to the stars. The Tabernas desert, in Andalusia, serves as a giant film studio and, currently, has one of the world's largest solar platforms.
