COLOMBIA - THE REBIRTH OF AMERINDIAN CIVILIZATIONS
Exploring with wide open eyes
An episode from the series LANDS OF THE EARTH
The contrast is striking from the top of the Monserrate hill which separates the modern and wild worlds. On one side is the city of Bogotá with its rich and colourful Hispanic architecture, on the other are nature and the indigenous peoples.
As we travel through Colombia and its history, we meet the natives who live away from modern society. They stayed close to nature, perpetuating ancestral hunting and farming techniques, natural medicine and a number of rituals, dances and songs that are almost chamanic.
