Synopsis

A literary giant, committed poet, playwright, politician who fought against poverty and for the abolition of the death penalty, Victor Hugo was a literary genius, recognized during his lifetime and honored by a national funeral in 1885.

A workaholic and passionate lover, he was also an inconsolable father, devastated by the death of his eldest daughter, Leopoldine, and desperate to see his youngest, Adèle, sink into madness.
