NEPAL: THE HIMALAYAS
A different perspective on the world
An episode from the series THROUGH YOUR EYES
How people live on the roof of the world? The Gurung are one of the few Nepalese ethnic groups to live in self-sufficiency in the high hills of central Nepal.
With the help of a young Nepalese guide, Sophie takes a long walk in the foothills of the Annapurna before reaching the village of Ghandruk, a "balcony" facing the most legendary peak. There, she learns about the agricultural traditions of Gurung women and discovers a people whose peaceful appearance hide the fiercest warriors in the world.
But the Annapurna has also more peaceful treasures to offer like its rich flora that a herbalist doctor knows how to use.
