Synopsis

In 1968, Bernard Moitessier set sail in the Golden Globe, a solo round-the-world race. After six months, when he was tipped to win, he decided to continue to the Pacific Islands to 'save his soul’, turning his back on fame and fortune.

An exceptional sailor, writer, pioneer of a slow-living ecology, philosopher, and poet, he has been the subject of much writing and has inspired generations of sailors.

Thanks to unique access to the Moitessier family archives, this film invites us to join him aboard Joshua, his trusty sailing boat.
