Synopsis

Andalusia has become the leading host country for the Gypsies, who arrived in Spain in the 15th century after being driven out of Rajasthan in India. Today, they number around 400,000 out of the region's eight million inhabitants.

Here, more than anywhere else, Gypsies are proud of their roots and their values. For a long time, they were a secretive, inward-looking community. Today, the Gypsies organize the biggest parties.

Most gypsy families have chosen the Catholic religion to gain greater acceptance in Spanish society. Every year, they take to the streets for the holy days, which the gypsies make their own.
