Synopsis
Long off the beaten track, the valleys surrounding the Rhone River are a treasure trove. These are unique territories at the crossroads of Alpine and Mediterranean influences, whose names, like Drome, are barely familiar.
It's no coincidence that the Drome is now known as the Organic Valley, as over 50% of its farms are organic. The villages are both undergoing an energy transition and working hard to repopulate, with some success.
In these mid-mountain valleys, traditions are still alive, particularly around pastoral life. The linden tree and lavender are celebrated every summer, and the grape harvest is also an occasion for significant events.
